The Phoenix Ranch School celebrates 28 years of excellence in education; a tradition that began with a vision to address the needs of the whole child. Under the guidance of a qualified and professionally prepared faculty, The Phoenix implements a program of appropriate academic challenge and support, as needed for each student in each subject area. Curriculum
The Phoenix Ranch School presents a curriculum that reflects a focus on academic rigor. We are teaching conceptual knowledge while advancing students’ ability to think and reason. The Phoenix Ranch School students will be engaged in the curriculum with the expectation that they will be able to ask questions, solve problems, and think and apply their reasoning to other situations. Education at the Phoenix Ranch School incorporates the California State Standards and specific curricular and instructional strategies that support student achievement. In addition to core subjects, The Phoenix Ranch School offers music classes to all students, and in kindergarten through eighth grade a leveled Spanish language program, and physical education. Art and technology are included in weekly activities in all classes.
Extra-Curricular and Optional Programs
Extended Care – Before school supervision is presented from 6:30-8:30 A.M. and an after-school program, Ranch Club, is presented from 3:00-6:30 P.M. Ranch Club includes recreation programming as well as a study hall (supervised homework).
Lunch – Lunch is included in the preschool program and may be purchased in elementary and middle school.
Band and Chorus – Band and chorus are offered as program options (presented as an elective in middle school and after school for students in third through fifth grade).
Sports Leagues – A competitive intra-mural sports league is presented after school for boys’ and girls’ in third through eighth grade. Basketball, soccer, volleyball, and flag-football are presented in 8-10 weeks of seasonal play, including weekly practices and games. |
